Weather and seasons in Ulthuan

Ulthuan tends to have a rather temperate climate, at least when it comes to warmth. The heat is never too hot, the cold is never too cold. Sadly the same can't be said for the wind and rain which, whilst again never really too severe in the main, do tend to strike hard on occasion. Ulthuan has been known to have extreme storms, gales and the like and although these excessive conditions are fairly rare they are inevitably of such severity that they are talked about for years afterwards.

The seasons in Ulthuan follow the trends of the Northern hemisphere. Spring is generally considered to last from March to May, summer from June to August, autumn from September to November and winter from December to February. As with anywhere else, there is precious little guarantee that the weather will always act in accordance with the stereotypes for any particular season and whilst you're never going to get, say, blizzards in summer without the use of very strong magic, there is often overlap between adjacent seasons when it comes to weather.

Money

Ever since records began each province of Ulthuan has used its own coinage, ranging from the intricate coin of Lothern to the plain, heavy money of Eataine. However, this caused a great deal of problems in trading in between states, as one can image. Eventually the Dragons Guild introduced a currency that worked alongside the existing coins. The Stamp. A paper-based form of currency taking the form of a small square piece of paper coloured in purple and etched in gold, displaying the motif of the Guild and being acceptable in any part of any province you care to mention. And although the traditional currency of each area of Ulthuan is still used to an extent, you will find that these Stamps have pretty much taken over as the national monetary system.
